Lynn Neiffer Obituary

Lynn Neiffer was born on April 27, 1939, and passed away November 22, 2024, at the Holy Rosary hospital in Miles City, Montana, with loved ones by her side.

Born in Tillamook, Oregon, Lynn was the daughter of James W. and Mabel (Kuhn) Loomis. In 1940, the Loomis family moved to the John Kuhn farm outside of Circle, Montana, and then to Brockway in 1944. Lynn attended school in Brockway and graduated from Circle High School in 1957. Her first job was at the Clerk and Recorder's office in Circle.

Lynn married Clifford Neiffer, on July 5, 1962, and they lived in Baker and Glendive, eventually settling in Terry in 1977. Together, they had five children: Charlotte, Cindy, Clifford, Colette, and George. Lynn and Clifford celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past summer.

After her children were older, Lynn accepted a job at the Terry Post Office. Later, she began working as a relief mail carrier and eventually took over the Shirley Route, serving her customers faithfully for 18 years before retiring in 2002.

Lynn had a deep love for crafting, especially crochet. She created countless beautiful afghans, tablecloths, and other intricate pieces that will be cherished by her friends and family for years to come. Her skill and attention to detail left a lasting impression on everyone who saw her work. In addition to crocheting, Lynn enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Church in Terry.

Lynn's greatest joy, however, was her family. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love and devotion to her family were unwavering, and her gentle spirit and genuine kindness will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Clifford of Terry; her children, Charlotte Neiffer (James) of Miles City, Cindy Schott (Carl) of Great Falls, Clifford Neiffer (Christy) of Helena, Colette Manker (William) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and George Neiffer (Luke) of Boise, Idaho; daughter in law Stepanie (Jeff) Miller of Minneapolis, as well as her grandchildren, Brandon Brekke, Brittany Brekke, Brian Neiffer, Melissa (David) Amman, Amber (Arthur) Louback de Souza, Kegan Manker, Aiden Manker, Phoebe Manker, and Jessica Neiffer. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Tobias, Aiofe, Zaydon, and River, a brother, Ken (Karen) Loomis of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents James and Mabel Loomis, brother Dean, sisters-in-law Rachel Loomis, Violet Kuehn and Lorraine Barrett, brothers-in-law Clarence Kuehn and Jim Certain.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to a charity of choice.

A celebration of Lynn's life was held at Community Presbyterian Church in Terry, on Tuesday, December 3rd, at 11 a.m. A Visitation was scheduled for Monday, December 2nd with family receiving friends from 3-5 p.m. at the Stevenson and Son's Chapel in Terry.
