Lynn "Honey" Short, passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on January 20, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Lynn dedicated her life to shaping the minds and hearts of countless children, leaving a lasting impact as a wonderful teacher.
A reflection of her bright personality, Lynn was known for her welcoming nature. She was always willing to pause her own activities to assist others, embodying a spirit of selflessness that resonated deeply with those around her. Her optimistic outlook on life—always viewing her cup as half full—was a source of inspiration to many, encouraging them to find joy and positivity even in challenging situations.
In addition to her dedicated teaching career, Lynn enjoyed golf outings with her loving husband, Lewis Clinton Short, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love until his passing. Throughout her life, Lynn was proud to keep her grandchildren, Hunter and Makena, close to her heart during their younger years, forming beautiful memories that they will carry with them always.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Donna Lauderdale (Dan), her grandchildren, Hunter Lauderdale (Maci) and Makena Lauderdale, and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Layton, and Lakelynn. She is also remembered fondly by her dearest friends, Sara Jane Pierce and Peggy Graves, who cherished her companionship.
Preceding Lynn in death was her devoted husband, Lewis Clinton Short, and her loving parents, Eugene and Maurine Evans.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. As we celebrate her life, we remember Lynn for the warmth, love, and kindness she generously shared with everyone around her.
