Lynn Van Wormer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Central Florida Casket Store and Funeral Chapel on Sep. 23, 2025.
Lynn Turner Van Wormer, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, graced this world with her presence on February 10, 1947, in Lakeland, Florida, and departed peacefully on July 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Born to Benjamin and Irene Turner, Lynn was a radiant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. As a child growing up in Lakeland, she cultivated her passion for crafting and quilting, hobbies that would later become a significant part of her life. These creative pursuits not only brought her joy but also served as a way for her to connect with her loved ones, sharing gifts of handmade quilts and crafts that were imbued with her love and attention.

Lynn was the proud mother of her daughter, Jerilyn Culver, who was a constant source of pride and joy for her. She also embraced her role as a grandmother, leaving a profound impact on her grandchildren; Keelie Smith, Ashley Van Wormer, Summer Jenkins, Brandon Carter, Brandon Van Wormer, and three other cherished grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support provided a foundation of love and encouragement for her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

In addition to her close-knit family, Lynn is survived by her brother, Guy Turner, and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Butler-Cullifer. Lynn valued her relationships with her loved ones deeply, and she would often share her love through thoughtful gestures, whether it be through a heartfelt conversation or a beautifully crafted quilt.

Her life, though brief, was filled with meaningful moments. Lynn found immense joy in attending craft shows where she could showcase her creations and connect with fellow artisans. Her spirit of creativity and community engagement was evident to all who knew her, as she frequently contributed to the warmth and vibrancy of her surroundings through her artistic endeavors.

A celebration of Lynn's life will take place on August 29, 2025, at her home at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and reflect on the beautiful impact she had on their lives. The service will be held in Lakeland, Florida, the place where she spent her cherished moments.
