Lynnette S. LaForge, 73, of Caney, Kansas passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born on August 4, 1951, in Fort Scott, Kansas to Bobbie Dean and Lois Maxine (Anderson) Williams. Lynnette grew up and attended school in Fort Scott, graduating from Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Junior College. She continued her education at Kansas State University in Manhattan before transferring to Pittsburg State University where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education. On May 14, 1974, she married Frank LaForge at Pittsburg, Kansas. Following their marriage they lived in Oakley, Kansas for eight years before moving to Caney in 1982 when they bought Gifford Insurance later becoming LaForge Insurance. Lynnette and Frank were active in the Caney community and enjoyed raising their children in a caring community. Lynnette's life was full of all the hustle, bustle and activities of raising their six children. Survivors include her husband Frank of the home; her children Destri Weed and husband Chris, Taber Wright, Kallan LaForge and wife Lexia, Jentry LaForge and wife Erica, and Gable LaForge and wife Rikki, her father Bob Williams, her brother Brian Williams and wife Terri, her sisters Cynthia Dickason and husband Nolan, and Karen Marshall and husband Steve, and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Williams and daughter, Haven Breann LaForge. A Celebration of Lynnette's life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Caney Valley Recreation Center, 403 E 1st St. in Caney; fellowship will follow service. The family asks everyone to wear purple in honor of Lynnette. Following Lynnette's wishes cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. Inurnment will be at a later date next to her daughter Haven in Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas. To leave a message for the family please visit www.dwbfh.com.
