Lynnette Sorenson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 18, 2025.
Minnetonka, MN - Lynnette Ruth Sorenson, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully with the sunset, surrounded by her family, on September 13th, 2025. Lynnette was born on April 23, 1948 in Ramsey County MN. A devoted Catholic throughout her life, she married the love of her life, Larry, on June 2, 1973, and together they shared 52 beautiful years of marriage, making their home in Minnetonka. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Shea, her sister Mary Ann Doyle, infant brother Daniel, parents-in-law Meril and Irma Sorenson and brother's-in-law Randy Sorenson and Stanley Chastek. She is survived by her loving husband Larry; sons Daniel (Andrea), Charles (Heather), and Andrew (Sarah); grandchildren Dani Joy(Levi), Anna Belle, Joseph(Mabel), Benjamin, Nolan, Scarlett, Cameron, and Oliver; sister Sharon, brothers William (Sharon) and Michael, and many nieces and nephews. Lynnette lived her life for her family and was the beating heart and soul of it. She was not only a mom to her boys, but also to their friends and she supported and loved them all through every stage of life. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She loved watching her grandchildren grow, cheering them on at games, celebrating milestones, and encouraging them to lead with love and hard work. Lynnette faithfully attended her weekly Tuesday night Al-Anon meetings, finding a strong sense of community and support through the encouraging conversation and friendships formed. She and her sister Sharon shared a bond deeper than words. Beginning and ending most days with an hour long phone call check in, if they weren't already together. They were best friends and true kindred spirits. Those who knew Lynnette will remember her strength, her humor, her forgiving nature, her perfectly kept nails, and above all, her unwavering love. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to West Suburban Alano and ICA Food Shelf. Services will be held Friday, September 26th, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Minnetonka. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am with luncheon to follow. Private interment at Fort Snelling.
