Lynwood Etchberger, 79, of West Lawn, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Caroline R. (Larimer) Etchberger, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage on May 19th.
Lynwood, a son of the late R. Fred and Edith (Degler) Etchberger, Sr. was born in Reading. He is survived by a son, Kale Etchberger; two step sons, Richard Dailey, husband of Pamela, and William Dailey, husband of Nicole; a brother, R. Fred Etchberger, Jr., husband of Carol; and four grandchildren, Matthew Dailey, Shaina Dailey, Nicholas Dailey, and Michael Dailey. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Etchberger, and Donald E. Etchberger, Sr.
He was a 1964 graduate of Wilson Senior High School and was a US Army Veteran, having served during Vietnam.
He retired in 2011 after more than 45 years with Glen-Gery, as a production supervisor, having also worked for more than 30 years with Sears Automotive as a mechanic.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed working on cars.

Lynwood, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow war veteran.
