Carol Lee (Marchbanks) McAvin, 77, of Tower City, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Gavin (Gary) E. McAvin, with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage.
Carol, a daughter of the late Wesley B. and Ora L. (Pillow) Marchbanks, was born in Childress, Texas. She is survived by her 7 children, Denise C. Meyer, wife of Nathaniel, Denja R. Roberts, wife of Glenn, Geri L. Anderson, wife of Jeffery, Deniel E. McAvin, Yahanan "John" McAvin, fiancé of Courtney, Geriah McAvin, husband of Michelle, and Samuel W. McAvin, husband of Allison; a brother Mark Marchbanks; and a sister Dorothy Sitz. She had 18 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Carlton, and Wesley Jr.; and two sisters, Leitha and Irene
Carol was a very talented artist and seamstress. She loved crafting, and quilting. She loved dancing and singing, and all genres of music. She was proficient in Martial Arts. Some of her passions included fast cars, motorcycles, and she often did her own vehicle repairs. She loved flowers, gardening, and nature. Carol was an excellent cook, she enjoyed baking as well. Family was the primary focus throughout her life. She always went out of her way to take care of those she loved. She was gainfully employed up until her passing. Carol was truly the wind beneath her family's wings. She will be forever remembered and loved by all.
Carol was a faithful member of the Assemblies of Yahweh, being baptized into Yahshua's Name in 1975.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hill Funeral Home, 111 Godfrey St., Rehrersburg. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 2, at 3:00 PM at the Assemblies of Yahweh Cemetery.
