M. Elise Anderson Pewitt, age 79, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025.

She was born in Fairview on January 16, 1946. She worked as a homemaker for her husband, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids…she never retired. She was honest, caring, and had a servants heart. If someone were ever in need, she would be there. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and flowers, with roses being her favorite. As a lady who enjoyed sewing and quilting, she was able to make each of her grandchildren a quilt.

Elise is preceded in death by her husband James H Pewitt, (son) James Anthony Pewitt, (Great Granddaughter) Lilah Kay Pewitt, (Parents) Fred Anderson and Pauline-Caruthers Anderson, (Brothers) Gilbert, Sidney, Allen, and Wilson Anderson, (Sister) Maxine Anderson-Norvell. Survived by (sons) Richard Pewitt (Pamela), Charlie Pewitt (Candi), (Grandchildren) Nikki, Christopher, Ashley, Tony, Abby, Austin, Dakoda, Hallie, Grace, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, (Sister) Evelyn Anderson-Sullivan, (Brothers) Johnny Anderson (Shirley), Michael Anderson (Carla), and Bobby Anderson (Tanya).

Visitation and Funeral services will be at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 4pm-8pm and will resume on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 12pm-2pm. Funeral services will be in the Chapel at 2pm with Bro. Aaron Mangrum officiating. Interment will follow in Pinkerton Cemetery (beside Old New Hope Baptist Church) in Fairview Tn.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Pewitt, Tony Pewitt, Austin Pewitt, Dakoda Pewitt, Patrick Miller, and Jordan Jennette.
