April Ann Cauthen Davis, beloved "Mimi," age 56, of White Bluff, TN, went to be with our Lord on August 15, 2025. She departed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her husband and three daughters, with her favorite band Def Leppard playing softly in the background.
She was born in Mississippi in 1968 to Robert Terry "Bob" and Virginia Ann Cauthen, the second of three children and the only daughter. A self-proclaimed "army brat," she lived all over Mississippi and Tennessee as a child and spoke fondly of her time living in Germany. She attended Dickson County High School in 1986 before her boyfriend Roy Davis whisked her away back to Mississippi. The two quickly knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. After a short courtship, they married in November of 1986. Their story is the quintessential good woman taming the wild young man. After the arrival of their first child, they settled in White Bluff, TN.
Her greatest achievement in life was being a mother to three daughters. She had hoped to have a boy, and that wish came true with the arrival of her first of four grandchildren. She went above and beyond to make sure birthdays, Christmas, and Easter were always special. It's the small things her daughters find the most memorable. Hamburgers, ice cream, and watching a movie on Friday nights. Telling her girls they could only choose one movie at Blockbuster, but letting them get two anyway. Making late-night trips to the Fast Stop by the railroad tracks for Starbucks Frappuccinos and snacks. Picking out a coke and candy bar after every grocery shopping trip. Singing along to songs on 107.5 the River on car rides. Taking over the dining room table putting together puzzles late into the night. She owned every Julia Roberts movie. Her favorite flowers were orange roses. She always chose red nail polish. She loved to decorate and sold Home Interiors for a few years.
April spent her adult career working at Jim Marvin Enterprises and Fiesta Gas Grills, both in Dickson, TN. She started as a bookkeeper, and over the course of her career worked up to Senior Accountant. She proudly shared the story of being the employee who was able to collect the most invoices due. She had a pleasant phone voice, and was often teased awake from naps by her family calling out, "April, line 2!" Her friendships with her co-workers, as well as all of her sisters-in-law, were very special to her. Her bosses treated her like family, and she spoke highly of them.
She silently suffered with chronic illness, but her family gave her purpose.
April is preceded in Heaven by her mother Ann Cauthen, grandmother Lilly "Mammy" Brown, grandfather Willie "Daddo" Brown, and grandmother Gladys "Granny" Whitaker. She is survived by her husband Roy Davis; her daughters Erica Lampley, Chelsea Davis, and Brittney Johnson; her grandchildren Tucker Lampley, Layne Lampley, Scarlett Davis, and Sonny Johnson; her brothers Rob and Billy Cauthen, and her father.
Until we see you again,
Luv Luv
