Frank Caprio Obituary
He was the real-life chief judge of the municipal court of Providence, Rhode Island, but TV viewers knew him best for his courtroom show, "Caught in Providence," and for his appearances on "Parking Wars."
He is being remembered as "the nicest judge in the world" - his kindness and compassion shone through as he brought a human touch to his rulings.
Caprio served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard from 1954 to 1962.

Judge Caprio was beloved by millions of people who were fortunate enough to see him in action during televised courtroom proceedings, where he ruled from the bench as a grand humanitarian and consummate justice. His common sense, wit, and compassion was unique, very rare, and he will never be forgotten. our sincere condolence to the family of Judge Caprio, who are suffering a loss so hard to bear.

I am a true admirer of Judge Caprio being a New England guy. He touched all corners of the world with his kindness. I live in southwest China. On Thursday August 21, I learned about his passing from a friend and neighbor, a young Chinese girl, a common Chinese person. She was in tears. She truly loved Frank Caprio and was very familiar with "Caught in Providence." The news broke my heart too and it was delivered to me by my Chinese neighbor whose heart Judge Caprio touched deeply, 8000 miles from Providence.

As a fan of Judge Caprio for 8 years (in SoCal the shared syndication starting around then), I fell in love with the Caprio Family tightness. Judge shared so many stories that were so familiar to my Mom as she had experienced during her 90 years. She was a 3 time cancer survivor and couldn't wait for us to turn on (Caught In Providence). Judge Caprio relieved all of us from the ongoing battles we were going through with her. We would like to thank David for posting (so quickly) announcing the passing of his Dad & the family. God bless all of you. Our family will continue to pray not only for Judge Caprio but also all of his loved ones. RIP Frank Caprio.
