Frank Caprio Obituary
He was the real-life chief judge of the municipal court of Providence, Rhode Island, but TV viewers knew him best for his courtroom show, "Caught in Providence," and for his appearances on "Parking Wars."
He is being remembered as "the nicest judge in the world" - his kindness and compassion shone through as he brought a human touch to his rulings.
Caprio served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard from 1954 to 1962.

I´m so sorry about Judge Caprio passing.My husband and myself use watch him on TV every day in central Florida. I´m from Harmony,RI so we just loved judge Frank, he treated everyone in his court room great, more judges and lawyers should be as nice and kind as he was, their never going to be judge like him. The memory is that of the many episodes of your show wherein you taught us that justice is not always throwing the book at every one who did not follow driving rules, but teaching all of us the importance of these laws, as well as helping those who were in debt to pay for alleged violations by reducing the penalties for those who were financially in need. Today was your funeral service, it is very hard to say goodbye to you, Judge Caprio. Your family spoke eloquently about who you were and what you stood for.

Judge Caprio was my freshman high school teacher. Our class was his first teaching experience. He was nervous on his first days, but still related well to our class. He was so handsome, a cute young guy who was serious, funny, and crush dreamy for us teenage girls.
Watching him as king of the court bench on TV made me smile with joy for his graciousness and kindness, replete with common sense and practical application of the law. Judge Caprio lived life well with integrity and moral compass that touched and resonated with so many lives that were transformed with renewed hope and mindful lessons. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends. His passing is a great loss, but he leaves a footprint and a blue print on how to live well. May his memory be eternal and bring blessings and fond memories to all.

So sorry to read of Judge Caprio's passing. Although I never met him in person, I became a huge fan of "Caught in Providence". As a member of both the Massachusetts and RI Bars, I was inspired by his wisdom and compassion from the bench. As a URI undergraduate, I lived in Narragansett and spent many enjoyable moments at his restaurant.

I honestly don't think there was any judge in history as sweet,fair and kind as this man. This man cared for the people that came before him,with whatever defense he heard,with whatever offense they did. I have went to court,judges don't even look at you,they look at their paperwork. They look at the baliff,if you have an attorney they look at the attorney. He looked at each individual human being, he listened and he proceeded to judge them with his heart open wide. His courage to be a good human being preceding his education and opportunities as a judge. Most judges have no heart,no discernment, but like Solomon in the bible,he must've prayed for wisdom, because his demeanor as a judge and a human being was unlike any that will ever be or ever has been. My sincerest condolences to his family who knew him personally, the wisdom,laughs and love they must've of shared from such a soul as this. I knew he had a good journey home,of that there's no question.

While I live in central Florida, even throught I´m from RI my husband and I looked forward to watching Caught in Providence, Daly.Hecwas so kind to all walks of life people, he never judged buy their color or dress. He treated me everyone with such kindness, and not only was he judge but teacher at Hope and wrestling coach. But he was so compassionate and generous to all people in his court room . I didn´t know him personally, but he was the best Judge EVER!! He had a heart of Gold!! I watch all his videos, while he was suffering with that horrible disease! I know he´s in a better place now, and he is healed. No more pain and suffering for him. We just need to remember this,so his loss would not be so hard for everyone! Even though I never met the Judge I feel like many of us, like I´ve met him, delt with him, but most important I wished I´ve worked with him, such a nice person, great heart and most important kind gentle soul, the best "Judge" around, and I´ve worked with many of them for almost 30 years.

I have watched Frank for many years as the Judge in court. I even saw the last video he had made, and thought he was doing better. Shortly after that is when I heard he passed away. I sat in front of his picture on facebook and cried many tears. He was a GREAT man and judge. We need more people like him on this earth... RIP Frank... YOU ARE MISSED.

I remember back in 2002 receiving a letter for a parking ticket in providence. I knew it was a mistake but still had to appear in court. At the time I don´t believe I had heard anything about judge caprio. So after he addressed me about the ticket and I told him the car that was ticketed was not my car the matter was dismissed. And instead of just dismissing me right away he took the time to chat with me for a a bit.
Little did I know that day of frustration for me would turn out to be a blessing that I had met one of the finest human beings to have ever walked the earth. Rest in peace judge caprio.
