Mabel C. Herman

Mabel C. Herman, 91, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. She was born March 12, 1934 to the late Solomon F. and Ruth (Shellhammer) Stewart. She was predeceased by her husband, Guy D. Herman, Sr. since 1985.
Mabel had various jobs throughout the Elizabethtown area including the Former Empire Shoe Company, Heather Bank Nursing Home in housekeeping and the former Klein Chocolate Factory. She also did custodial work at the Elizabethtown School District and Moyer's Chip Factory. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo. More than anything she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her children, Darlene K. Shank and husband Melvin, Dawn L. Fryberger, Guy D. Herman, Jr., and Lorraine M. McGail and husband Michael; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and five and a half great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter, Ginger C. Shrum and eleven siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11 AM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service at Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Casual attire is requested.
