Mabel Naramore Obituary

Mabel Stanford Naramore passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2026. Mabel was born September 18, 1931, in Loretta, TN to Jessie and Mary (Kellum) Stanford.

Born into a closely-knit family of thirteen siblings and even more cousins, Mabel carried that sense of togetherness throughout her years, always keeping family at the center of her world. She never tired of gathering several times a year with her siblings and their spouses, where the rooms were loud with love, laughter, and practical jokes.

She cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Whether it was celebrating milestones or simply sharing stories, her home was always filled with food, warmth, and laughter.

Known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and endless love, Mabel lived a full and joyful life. She had a passion for playing games and was often found around a card table, where her playful competitiveness and quick humor shined. Her ability to host and make others laugh will be remembered by all who knew her.

She spent many happy hours with the Soddy Daisy Senior Center playing games, traveling, and sharing meals. She was an integral part of the senior community and had many, many friends.

A woman of many interests, she enjoyed gardening, square dancing, music, traveling, and swim classes at the YMCA where the staff fondly nicknamed her, her friend Maris, and sister Mildred "the M&Ms".

She is survived by her sister, Geneva (Horace) Bailey, children Connie Roberts and Mike (Angela) Smith; grandchildren Chele and Hannah Roberts; Josh Kimbrel and Jessica Spellacey, and great granddaughter, Addison Baker.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Thomas J. Naramore, parents Mary and Jessie Stanford, brothers Otho Stanford, Elwood Stanford, Jimmy Stanford, and Pete Stanford. Sisters Elsie Dollar, Estelle Baggett, Agnes Mitchell, and Mildred Snyder.
