Mac Edward Scarbrough (HCIC) passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at his home in Brandon, MS. He was 58 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 10:00 am.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with burial following at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.
Mac was born on August 31, 1966, to Harmon McAlpin Scarbrough and Patricia Ann Ruff Scarbrough in Jackson, MS. He lived in Richland where he won multiple 1st place lawnmower races at the annual Richland Day event. He was the winner of the burnout competition in the Jackson Car Show and crowd favorite at the Miss Hawg Flag Island despite not being entered into either competition. Mac would dance anywhere in front of any size crowd with all confidence that any one man could have despite having no rhythm or ability to dance. He also successfully hit a train conductor in the head with a rock while the train was in motion. Mac enjoyed fishing, machine work, practical jokes, building simple extremely useful things, building complicated useless things, on purpose, and solving problems. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Mac is preceded in death by his parents, Harmon and Patricia Ann Scarbrough. He is survived by his life partner, Dorothy Craft; daughter, Jamie Willis (Bubba); sons, Russell Scarbrough, and Randall Scarbrough (Ashley); Dorothy’s children; Pam Kyzar (Josh), Jeremy Slawson and Bobbie Jo Fonville; sisters, Beth Scarbrough, Amy Scarbrough, and Becky Keller; brothers, Jason Keller, and Robert “P-Nut” Keller; grandchildren, Justin Kyzar (Brook), Nathan Kyzar (Scarlett), Tucker Kyzar, Amberly Kyzar, Braelynn Slawson, Ethan Willis, Ryder Willis, Rayce Willis, Bud Willis, Onnie Dean Scarbrough, Nova Scarbrough, Chaya “Punchy” Scarbrough, Macie Scarbrough, Izzie Scarbrough, and Dollie Scarbrough.
