Mackie Dale Smith, age 60, of Middlesboro, Kentucky went home to be with His Lord and Savior while surrounded by his loving family on January 31, 2025 at the Middlesboro A.R.H. Hospital.
He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on March 5, 1964 to the late Harvey and Shirley Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Smith and his brother-in-law Clifford King.
Mackie was a loving and loyal husband, father, and friend. He had a big heart and a warm, engaging smile. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, soul, and strength. Any time spent with his family was time well spent because his family was his pride and joy. He also was a dog person and loved his pups.
Left to mourn his passing, Rhonda Smith, his beloved wife of 38 years, his son Chris Smith, daughter Jessica (Travis) Saylor, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Joyce King, sisters Diane Smith (Hillary Cheek), Sherrie (Bobby) Hill, grandchildren Lillian Smith, Harvey Smith, Hunter Mason, Chase Mason, special aunt Linda Sue Johnson, his brothers and sisters of the heart Bruce Bunch, Big Dave, Charles M, Brandie, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family of Mackie Smith will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2025 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Padgett and Rev. Jeremy King officiating. Music will be provided by Rick and Tona Turner (The Gospel Lights).
Graveside services will follow at the Smith Cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Bruce Bunch, Timmy Cheek, Tyler King, William Hill, Chris Smith, Travis Saylor, Jeffery Hatfield and Ali Omar. Honorary pallbearer will be Big Dave.
Green Hills Funeral Home, Middlesboro, is honored to serve the Smith Family.
