Madeleine Joanne (Marquis) Bomberg, age 86, passed peacefully while surrounded by her family on May 7, 2024.
She was in hospice care at the Hunt Community in Nashua.
Madeleine, known by all her family and their friends as simply Memere, was the wife of the late Thomas H. Bomberg, Sr. and the daughter of the late Irene Marquis. Madeleine is also predeceased by an infant son Jeffrey and Richard Marquis her brother.
Madeleine graduated from Nashua High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse.
She met Tom while he was a soldier stationed at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts. They married in April 1961. She practiced nursing when she could while they traveled to Tom's different assignments and she raised their three sons-Tom, Jr., Patrick, and Craig.
When Tom retired from the U.S. Army, they returned to Nashua, and she focused on geriatric nursing at Greenbrier nursing home.
She always found time to help with her grandchildren. And, after Tom died, she frequently traveled to spend time with her family.
She moved to the Hunt Home in 2021 and enjoyed the friends she made there and getting visits from her family.
She is survived by her three sons: Tom Jr. and his wife Lyn of Merrimack, NH; Patrick and his wife Alison of Boston, MA; and Craig and his wife Lisa of Colorado Springs, CO. And her 7 grandchildren: Matthew and his wife Arianna of Swanzey, NH; Michael of Merrimack, NH; Andrew and his wife Kayleigh of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Madeleine of Boston, MA; Christina of Ft.
