Madeleine LeBlanc Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home on Mar. 10, 2026.
Madeleine A. (Fournier) LeBlanc, a devoted matriarch, cherished friend, and guiding light to all who knew her. Madeleine passed from this world surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was 91 years old.

Born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, Madeleine was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Anita (Ouellette) Fournier. Her upbringing in the Grafton Hill neighborhood was filled with love and enduring values that she carried throughout her life. A proud alumna of Saint Stephen's High School, Madeleine embraced her education with immense enthusiasm, setting the foundation for a life dedicated to family and faith.

Madeleine's heart was vast, and her love was generously shared with her family, who were always at the center of her universe. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Roger J. LeBlanc, who passed in 1998, and her younger brother, Paul Fournier. Together, Madeleine and Roger shared a beautiful family life in Boylston, filled with love, laughter, and many evenings of square dancing, a pastime that brought them both joy and cherished memories.

She is survived by her devoted twin daughters, Janet S. Carr and her husband James, and Jane L. Cox and her husband Robert, both residing in Shrewsbury and her beloved son, Paul R. LeBlanc of Worcester; Madeleine's legacy of love continues through her eight grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jason, Jennifer, Cheryl, Susan, Lauren, Kristen, and Brian. Her family further blossomed with eight great-grandchildren: Jayden, Benjamin, Daniel, Summer, Elsie, Darryn, Desmond, and Norah. Madeleine also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Madeleine's warmth and compassion extended beyond her family to her community. A long-time faithful member of Saint Mary of the Hills Parish in Boylston, she was an active participant as a Eucharistic Minister, choir member and Acolyte for many of the parish funerals. Her unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through triumphs and trials alike.

Known for her loving and caring nature, Madeleine was a beacon of kindness in every interaction. Her gentle spirit and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone, fortunate enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to https://www.alz.org/ in remembrance of Madeleine's giving spirit.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Madeleine are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston, MA. She will be buried next to her beloved Roger in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
