Robert A. "Bob" Bunker

Robert A. "Bob" Bunker, 97, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, died peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 7, 2026, at CareOne Millbury.

Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Elbridge G. Bunker and Leonie G. (Ellis) Bunker. Bob was raised and educated in Shrewsbury, graduating from Shrewsbury High School, and later earned an associate's degree in English.

Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Pirmasens, Germany, as a communications equipment repairman. His service earned him the Army of Occupation Medal, and he was honorably discharged in 1953 with the rank of sergeant.

A skilled craftsman and carpenter, Bob spent much of his life in the home he built alongside his father. The two worked together for many years in the carpentry trade. Bob also enjoyed building detailed model cars and trucks from scratch, approaching each project with careful research and meticulous attention.

He is survived by his cousin, Mary E. Larrivee of Ohio, and was predeceased by his dear friend, Barbara A. Belton of Shrewsbury.

Graveside services will be private. The Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
