Madeline M. Bronkar, 94 of Zanesville, died 2:18 AM, Monday, August 22, 2022, at The Oaks at Bethesda. She was born Wednesday, October 12, 1927, in Fulda, Ohio the daughter of Urban Estadt and Sophia (Nau) Estadt.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was an auxiliary member of the Knights of Columbus Council 505, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post 29.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed being the grand matriarch of her family. Madeline enjoyed playing cards, gardening and traveling.
Madeline is survived by eight children, Robert P. (Beverly) Bronkar, Debra (William) McCarthy, Bonnie Mahaffey, Darlene (Jim) Porter, Fred (Beth) Bronkar, Joe (Erin) Bronkar, Karen (Doug) Fehrman, and Nancy (Tim) Lasure; twenty grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters-in-law, Eunice Bronkar and Beulah Harper and several nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.
In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Bronkar who died July 10, 1993; two sisters, LaVerne Pickrell and Mary Sorg; one half-brother, Robert Estadt and her longtime companion Larry McNally.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 25, 2022, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 955 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant.
