Madeline Marie Nagy was an only child born in Detroit, Michigan on August 14, 1928. She was the daughter of Florence Body and George Mihaescu. Her father died when she was just 11 years old.
After graduating from high school she attended Highland Park School of Nursing. She became a Registered Nurse in May of 1949. Her career extended over 40 years. Her love of nursing inspired the careers of three daughters and three granddaughters. So her love of nursing continues
Madeline was always up for life. She married the love of her life, Charles Nagy on February 18, 1950. Soon after, they moved to Rockwood where they established their homestead. She became the proud mother of 5 daughters, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Madeline and Chuck enjoyed their retirement years traveling and spending time at their Florida condo. They enjoyed spending time with their family members, supporting all the various functions and activities.
She was always up for an adventure. Her heart was broken when her best friend and love of her life died. Chuck passed on April 1, 2016. However, she became stronger and more independent, and lived by the words " Promise me you will always remember - You are braver than you believe and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think." - Christopher Robin
Even with her walker and wheel chair she participated in family and friends activities. It was hard sometimes to keep up with her! At 97, she was thrilled to renew her drivers license, so she could "possibly" drive to church, the hairdresser and to Canada!
Madeline was a member of St. Mary's Church in Rockwood since 1951. She belonged to the "Daughters of Mary" and enjoyed her luncheon meetings with her retired friends. She became an honorary member of the St. Mary Academy Aluman after the graduation of her 5 daughters.
She was a great role model for her family. She was always supportive of everyone. She was full of life and kept up with technology. She had a cellphone, iPad, Kindle and computer. She loved Facebook and YouTube reels. We will miss her daily phone calls and her good night texts.
Madeline will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

I have carried so many wonderful memories of the times shared with Madeline, Chuck and the girls while growing up. Family gatherings at their home were always awesome Although we've only been able to see each other on occasion in my adult years, Madeline and family have always had a special place in my heart. A role model and amazing person puts it mildly. My thoughts and prayers are with her wonderful family. With love, Cousin Judy (Ulieru) Hopper
