Madeline R. Rossi

Madeline R. Rossi, 84, of 2nd Street, died Thursday, June 12, 2025, at her residence in New Castle. She was born on March 20, 1941, in New Castle, the daughter of the late James and Rose (Russo) Mash. She was married to the late John B. Rossi, Sr., who died November 4, 2021. Mrs. Rossi worked at Infocision in the Call Center. She was an avid softball player and bowler. She enjoyed crocheting, going to the casino, playing slots on her laptop, sitting in the sun reading. She also loved watching Jersey Boys. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by four children, John Baptist Rossi, Jr., of New Castle, James S. Rossi, Sr., and his wife Colleen of New Castle, Jodi L. Shuchart and her husband Gene of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and Jana M. Adamo and her husband Anthony of New Castle, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Sherri B. Rossi, one brother, James Mash, Jr., and three sisters, Anita Ponziani, Phyllis Runyon, and Christine Mash.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 16, 2025, from 3 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Rosary service will be recited at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Camillus Church. Father Fred L. Cain will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM.
