Mae Dell went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2025.
Mae Dell was born August 13, 1934 in Tom Green County to parents Herbert and Ernestine Kohutek Wanoreck. She attended Fairview and Mereta Elementary schools; and graduated from Eola High School. After graduating from San Angelo Business College, she worked for GTE until she married Charles Jurecek Jr. on June 25, 1960. They spent 61 years together on the family farm in Eola. While living at Eola, Mae Dell was a member of St. Phillips Catholic Church where she taught religion classes, served as an Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Alter Society. She and Charles were long time members of the Czech Heritage Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ernestine Wanoreck, her husband Charles Jurecek Jr., brothers-in laws Nick (Kate) Jurecek and Raymond Jurecek, sister-in law Matilda (Ello) Wilde, nephew Mike Jurecek, nieces Shelia Chrisman and Nancy Schwertner.
She is survived by son, Mitch Jurecek of Eldorado and daughter, Teresa (Kevin) Sturm of Veribest. Granddaughter Ashley (Scott) Henrich of New Braunfels. Grandsons Justin (Shelby) Sturm of Veribest, Josh (Anna) Jurecek of Sonora, and Jaakan Jurecek ( fiancée Aislin Nixon) of Eldorado. Great Grandsons Clay Henrich, Evan Henrich, Bennett Sturm, and Lain Jurecek; Great Granddaughter, Gemma Lacy; and sister-in-law Connie Jurecek.
A rosary will be held at 1:00 pm and Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 17, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Justin Sturm, Scott Henrich, Josh Jurecek, Jaakan Jurecek, Randy Spieker, and Cody Moeller.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Crest at the Baptist Retirement Community and Concho Hearts Hospice for their compassionate care.
