Magaline Hobson Sturdivant

Our beloved Magaline Hobson Sturdivant, affectionately known as "Honey Ma", 84, went home to be with the Lord during the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
She was born on August 2, 1938 to Maryetta Hobson Thompson and James (Bus) Rankin. She attended J.C. Price High School and was employed at Tri-State Health Supplies. Magaline was a faithful member of Dorsett Chapel United Church of Christ, where she served diligently as a Deaconess, on the Usher Board, provided transportation for seniors and baked delicious cookies for vacation bible school. Her hobbies included feeding the birds and squirrels and working in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa (Tess) Sturdivant; son, Clay Anthony Sturdivant; brother, David Ralph Hobson; and sister, Marie Hobson.
Magaline was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Clayton Sturdivant of 64 years; two children, Donald (Mae) Sturdivant and Natalie "Hope" (Preston) Wallace; daughter-in-law, Patricia Byrd Sturdivant; ten grandchildren, LaMichael "Antwjuan" (Kenya) Marlin, Nadia (Bruce) S. Griner, Chad Sturdivant, Darrius Wallace, Jared Wallace, Preston Wallace III, Alisha Byrd-Clark, Adrienne Witherspoon, Camille Mackey, Kevin Mackey; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
