Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whiting's Funeral Home - Williamsburg on Feb. 3, 2026.
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, our beloved Maggie Olivia Carter answered the Master's call at Riverside Select Specialty Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 11, 1944, to the late Robert E. Perrin Sr and Annie Lewis Perrin.

Maggie was a lifelong resident of the area and an avid "Washington Redskins" fan. She retired from the York County School System after many years of dedicated service and also worked for the York Crab and Oyster Company for several years. Maggie was loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Royal "Sonny" Carter Jr; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson and Danielle Seldon; and siblings, Joyce Perrin, Robert Perrin, Theodis Perrin, Clarence Perrin, Lillie Mae Pierce, Harry Perrin, Patricia Dennis, Annie Spriggs, Sarah Lewis, Deloris Perrin, Timothy Perrin, and Charles Perrin.

She leaves behind to cherish her fond memories her loving children, Carolette Carter-Banks (Ernest), Sharon Carter, Calvin Carter (Kim), Annette Chatman (Warren), and Carl Dana Carter; siblings, Elsie Chandler, Juanita Carter (John), Vatrice Sessions, and Kenneth Perrin; grandchildren, Ashley Jones (William), Vaughn White Jr, Alecia White, Catrina Jones, Eisha Carter and Katina Bradford; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives and caring friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Allen Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Carter may be viewed in the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
