Hilo, Hawaii,Oldest Daughter ofEarl AI Serrao Jr. & Corrinna (Neitzel) OandasanShe was the first of the Serrao grandchildren.Mahealani loved to travel, explore new cultures through food, and spend meaningful time with her family. A devoted reader and loyal fan of Cher, Mahealani embraced the little joys in life with enthusiasm and dark humor. During grade school, she would read throughout the summer to earn Star Wars memorabilia from the Keaau Librarya tradition that reflected her love for stories.She was a proud graduate of Waikea High School and attended Job Corps. Throughout her life, Mahealani dedicated herself to caring for othersworking as a home health care provider, paraeducator, and child care provider. Her nurturing spirit and compassionate heart touched countless lives.Mahealani was diagnosed with Stage 5 renal failure in 2020 and confronted the illness with remarkable courage and resilience. Despite the challenges, she embraced her final days with grace. She now rests in peace.Mahealani is survived by her father Earl AI Serrao Jr. (Sonya), mother Corrinna Oandasan (Sidney), siblings: Lokelani Moore (Wade), Anelalani Serrao-Smith (David), Puulani Romero (Martin) Step Siblings: Shawn Rapozo (Jaelene), Cyrus Abiley, Austin Abiley (Jamie), Leimana Abiley, Ka-ui-o-nalani Lyman (Ellie), and Charles Rapozo; many nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins, all of whom she cherished deeply.She had the special honor of naming her cousin Ponos son and Kaylas daughtermoments she held close to her heart.Mahealani has taken her gentle shift among the heavens, cradling her beloved nephew Milagro, beloved niece Wadelynn and beloved Nephew Davey in her eternal embrace. Until the day their parents join them, they rest safely beneath the wings of Aunty Mahiwrapped in her light, her love, and her lullabies of stars.She was preceded in death by her Grandpa Chappy, Grandma Pina, Grandpa Ignacio, Grandpa Stan, her step brother Preston, and her partner Tomas Mendoza.Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be missed beyond measure.Mahealani will be cremated, and her ashes will be spread in Hawaii and Paris at a later date.
