“God can’t give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing.” -C.S. Lewis.
As of August 7, 2023, Mai is resting in perfect peace. She was born January 24th 1976, in Mundelein, Illinois to the late Stanley Carl Plzak and Sara Jo McLaughlin (née Schuler, née Plzak) both of Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
At a very young age it became undeniably obvious that Mai was intelligent, bright, talented and full of personality. She had an ability to entertain people with her humor and wit. Those who spent time with her will always remember her impersonations and eccentric style.
Mai was a graduate of Xavier High School and St. Norbert College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. Her nonjudgmental personality and kindness were the motivation behind her job choices and numerous animal rescues. She was incredibly loved and we will miss her vibrant spirit.
Mai is survived by her mother Sara (William) McLaughlin; sister Lydia (Chad) Anderson; nieces and nephews Liv, Dane, Nolie, and Van Anderson; and an extended family full of wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Stan Plzak, and grandparents. It is imperative to say “Thank you” to the community of family and friends who continually surrounded Mai with support, hope, and love. It now our assurance she is held in her maker’s arms, her Heavenly Father, who loves her most of all.
Please give generously to your favorite charity and tell your family you love them. There will be a private gathering for Mai’s family at a later date.
