Maisie Myrtle Gibson, 85, of Sissonville passed away September 12, 2025 at CAMC Memorial after a short illness. Maisie was a woman who loved the Lord and never knew a stranger. She was a long-term member of PAC Grapevine Church. Maisie sang with the Gibson Family Quartet Gospel group for almost 60 years. Singing and Family were her passions. She always had an open door and food on the table for everyone. She retired after 29 years at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 60 years, Nester C Gibson, her parents Otis & Hazel Landers, her Granddaughter Rhonda Payne, her Grandson Justin L Gibson, Daughters Regina A & Wanda P Gibson and son-in-law Ronald K. Burdette. Left to cherish her memories are her children; Laura Gay Gibson, Penny Payne, Peggy Pritt (Debbie), Kenny Gibson(Kim), Larry Joe Gibson, Clara (Sis) Burdette, and Frank Gibson. Her siblings; Ruby Payne, Kenny Landers, Betty Carter, Hassie Burdette all of Sissonville. Followed by 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren, and a large extended family.
The family would like to express a special thanks to her doctors and to the CPICU staff at CAMC Memorial division.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Cunningham Parker Johnson Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Sissonville Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Leroy Conner officiating.
