Majella Guy Pelchat

Mr. Majella Guy Pelchat, 93, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, with a view of the Indian River and surrounded by his three sons.
Born in Saint-Gédéon, Quebec, Mr. Pelchat graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1957, he came to the United States to join Radiation, Inc., later known as Harris Corporation (now L3 Harris), where he remained until his retirement in 1992. An accomplished engineer, he held several patents in communications systems design, reflecting his commitment to technical excellence as well as his ability to create and innovate.
Mr. Pelchat led a life marked by intellectual curiosity and a spirit of adventure. He enjoyed activities including motorcycling, but his greatest passion was for boats and all aspects of their propulsion and navigation. He was quick to share the knowledge and experience he gained with others, and his generosity will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his sons John (Karen), Robert, and Yves (Stacey), as well as his grandchildren Kevin, Anne, Nicolette (Jack), Jake, and Alex.

Private services will be held at a later date. Our dad and papa will live in our hearts forever.
His ship has sailed beyond the horizon. Though we can no longer see it, we know the journey continues.
