Dear Shelia and Family,

My condolences for the untimely passing of Malcolm.

It has been several years, but one is reminded of the
work, the tee box, and the friendship.

It still makes me smile.

Sincerely.

I cannot think of Malcolm in the past tense - to me, his presence will ever be fresh. He was endowed with two of the most desirable, but uncommon characteristics in most men - wisdom and decency. These manifested themselves in the high regard and respect with which he was held. He was like E.F. Hutton:
When Malcolm talked, people listened.
He put an end one day to along and fruitless debate in the clubhouse as we struggled to find an appropriate, catchy name for our golf group. He said very quietly,
"We like to play only when the sun is up and the weather is good, why not call ourselves 'The Sunshine Boys'."
That was that - I know - I was there.
So, as an ex-Sunshine Boy, I say : "Farewell Malcolm - though you will always be with us."
