Malcolm M. Reeves, 96, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 13, 1926 in East Prairie, Missouri, the son of Monroe and Margaret (Heil) Reeves. Malcolm married the love of his life, Florence Louise Williams on November 17, 1946. Malcolm and Louise enjoyed sixty-four years of marriage centered on their faith and family until her passing on April 12, 2011.
Malcolm faithfully served his Country during World War II in the United States Navy. In recent years, Malcolm was very proud to be included in the Honor Flight in 2019. He was a devoted Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Malcolm lovingly referred to his granddaughters as "sweeties" and his grandsons as "buddies". His greatest blessing was time spent with his family.
Malcolm was a very simple man who never met a stranger. He truly enjoyed people and loved to reminisce with friends and family. Throughout his life, Malcolm was a very joyful person, never asking for anything for himself. He was a very dedicated worker where he worked for the New York Central Railroad as a conductor for thirty-six years. Malcolm was a devoted member of First Baptist Church family since 1951 where he served as a Deacon and was always willing to help at the Church wherever he was needed.
Malcolm will be remembered by his son, Keith Reeves along with his three children, Karissa Turner and husband, Ryan, Trevor Reeves and his wife, Samantha, Kali Browning and her husband, Tyler. Malcolm will also be remembered by his daughter, Debbie Tuscan and her husband, Glen along with their two children, Christopher Foust and his wife, Amy and Brittany Tuscan; great grandchildren, Rylend Padilla, Tyler, Khyla, Alise, Cora and Maximus Foust, Ava, Ella and Emery Turner, Madilynn and Aleena Reeves, Jaxon, Jenna and Josie Browning; brother, Rolla Jr. (Alma) Woods; sister-in-law, Betty Ankenbrandt; brother-in-law, Vernon Deutsch; many loved nieces and nephews; special friend, Myrtle Sharp.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise Reeves; two brothers, Carl and Jewel Reeves; and sister, Wanda Crooks.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, 130 W. 6th Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Freels officiating. Prior to the Funeral Service, a Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Antioch Cemetery where Malcolm will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Louise.
Memorial contributions may be made in Malcolm's memory to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry. Envelopes will be at the Church or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.

So sorry for your loss, I enjoyed the time that was spent that one summer, and then the following year, when I drove his brother Pappy to visit with him and all the family
