Ezra Dorney, 85, of Keensburg, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at Wabash General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on November 18, 1939, in Wabash County, Illinois, the son of Jessie and Evelyn (Wilson) Dorney. He married Irene McDaniel on October 29, 1960, and together they enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage until her passing on January 17, 2024.

Ezra worked most of his life as a farmhand. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and watching football. Ezra was a fan of John Wayne and watched his western movies. Having cookouts with his family was special to him, and he loved his dog, Big Boy. Ezra dearly loved his family, and his grandchildren brought him great joy. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Ezra leaves behind one son, Jonathan (Nancy) Dorney; daughters, Theresa Hernandez, Kathleen Ayers; Many loved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Stanley Dorney; sister, Rose Riley, several nieces and nephews.

Ezra was preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, Linda, Joann and Evelyn; several brothers and sisters.

In keeping with Ezra's wishes, no formal services are planned at this time.
