Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moments Funeral Home - Lucedale on Jan. 12, 2026.
Malcolm "Mac" Everette Rouse, age 83, passed away January 10, 2026. Mac was a man defined by hard work, integrity, and a deep sense of right and wrong. A proud Navy veteran, Mac carried the values of discipline, service, and accountability with him throughout his life, never wavering from what he believed was right.
He was the owner of Deep South Nursery , which reflected both his relentless work ethic and his perfectionist nature. Mac believed in doing things the right way-or not at all-and he held himself to the same high standards he expected of others. His dedication was seen in everything he touched.
Mac never met a stranger. Known for his straightforward honesty, he had a way of connecting with people from all walks of life. He was quick to speak up when something wasn't right, not guided by judgment, but by a strong moral compass and a genuine passion, which was evident in all he did.
Those who knew Mac will remember his unwavering work ethic, his commitment to doing what was right, and the unwavering presence he carried into every room. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the values he upheld, and the example he set.

He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Everette Rouse; mother, Ruth Edwards Rouse; father, Troy L Rouse; siblings, Barbara Wilkins, Joan Howell, and Troy L "TL" Rouse.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Edna Frances Mabry Rouse; daughter, Gwendolan (Kenny) Pierce; sister, Brenda (Jim) Yonge; special friend; Lucio "Shorty" Morales; numerous other relatives and friends.
