Malichi Mashack

Deacon Malichi Henry Mashack, 91, of Hartsville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on November 15, 2025. Born in Hartsville on July 29, 1934, he was the beloved son of Willie and Girlena Mashack.
Malichi was educated in the Darlington County School System and went on to build a lifelong reputation as a hardworking, dedicated craftsman. He spent 27 years employed with Reliable Roofing Company, NY before taking a leap of faith and helping to establish Mashack Construction Company in New York, NY, alongside his nephew, Michael Mashack. His exceptional skills in construction, cabinetry, and in laying ceramic tiles became widely recognized, and he generously passed on his knowledge by teaching the trade to his nephews and many others.
On January 27, 1968, Malichi married the love of his life, Effie Marie Farr Mashack, with whom he shared a devoted and faith-centered marriage.
In 1975, Malichi gave his heart to the Lord at the New Testament Church of God in Brooklyn, NY. From that moment forward, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to the Church of God movement, faithfully serving in numerous capacities over the years. He currently is a member of the Sixth Street Church of God in Hartsville, SC where he is a key member of the Brotherhood. A God-fearing man, Malichi lived his faith through action, humility, and service.
Malichi's greatest charity was the work of his hands - craftsmanship offered with devotion, care, and the spirit of a true servant of Christ. He also offered his assistance to the Sonoco Men's Club of Hartsville where he sang and served as the treasurer for many years. His legacy of faith, generosity, and skill will live on in the many lives he touched.
Malichi leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Effie Marie Mashack; his brothers Charles Mayshack, Hartsville, SC and Ray Mayshack (Mary) Orange Park, FL; his sister-in-law, Mary Gwaltney of Hartsville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends who will forever remember his kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Girlena Mashack, and twelve siblings, Roberta Mashack Robinson, Willie James Mayshack, Isaac Mayshack, Rebecca Mashack Toney, Girlena Mashack Jackson, Daniel Mayshack, Thomas Maeshack, Elisha Mashack, Mary Ann Mashack Philmon, Ella Mae Mashack Chisolm, Aaron Mashack, Adena Mashack Harrison, all of whom he now joins in eternal peace.
