Malik Rodriguez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Malik Rodriguez, who left us too soon on February 8, 2025, at the age of 29 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 6, 1995, Malik was a light in the lives of all who knew him-his kind heart, infectious laughter, and playful spirit left an indelible mark on those he loved.
Malik was the beloved son of Jessica Rodriguez and the cherished grandson of Diana Nieves and Jose Ramon Rodriguez. He shared a deep bond with his sisters, Tenisha Marie Bennett and Destiny Marie, and adored his nieces, Melody Sofia and Mila Khaleesi. His love for family extended far and wide, embracing his aunts Maria Rodriguez and Naomi Mendenhall, his uncle Joshua Rodriguez, and numerous relatives who were dear to him.
He is reunited in eternal peace with those who passed before him, including his uncles Jeremy Revilla and Jose Ramon Rodriguez Jr.; his great-uncles Michael Nieves and Confessor Nieves; and his great-grandparents Esmeralda Nieves and Nicolas Nieves Samot.
Malik was a graduate of Escuela Superior Vocacional Dr. Heriberto Domenech. He was a true enthusiast of life's small joys, finding happiness in video games, chess, and board games shared with loved ones. He had a knack for card tricks and magic, captivating those around him with his talent and charm. He also taught himself to play the guitar, adding yet another dimension to his creative spirit. But above all, his greatest joy was being surrounded by family, showering his mother, grandparents, and siblings with unwavering love.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Malik's life will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S Main St., Plains, Pennsylvania, 18705.
