Maloy null Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vining Funeral Home - Safford on Aug. 18, 2022.
Edward Brian Maloy, of Safford, entered into eternal life Friday evening, August 12, 2022, at the Haven of Safford. He was 73.
Ed was born in El Paso, Texas, on July 25, 1949, and was adopted at birth by Leslie Grover Maloy and Nelda Pomeroy Maloy. He grew up in Safford, Arizona, where he played football and later went to Eastern Arizona College.
After his Mission to New York, Ed relocated to Mesa where he went to cosmetology school to become a hairdresser. In 1984, Ed and his daughter, Loriel, moved to Springerville, Arizona, where he cut hair for 20+ years.
In 1997, Ed Married Dorlene and moved to Eagar to live with her and her children, Jenna, Tad, and Maggie. When Ed retired, he moved home to Safford to be closer to his grandchildren and brother, Rohn.
Ed had a great love for the outdoors and could always be found camping, fishing, hunting, or riding four wheelers. He loved sports and spent his retirement watching every local EA game he could. He was the master of the dirty dad joke, and his goal was always to get you to smile. Ed was the kind of guy who would walk through a grocery store and couldn't go five feet without someone stopping him to say hello, he truly knew everyone.
He was loved by many and remembered by all, whether it was for his haircuts, his jokes, or his dedication to helping others. Although Ed no longer walks this Earth, his memory lives on with those that knew and loved him.
Graveside funeral services for Ed will be conducted Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at the Gila Valley Memorial Gardens.

Elder Maloy and I were Companions in Oskaloosa Iowa. We had the privilege of teaching Harold Oliver a blind fellow. I remember him reading the brail Book of Mormon while he was laying down in bed. Elder Maloy was able to baptize Harold in the YMCA pool where he was employed as a masseur. Ed was quite a cook I remember his mushroom soup smothered pork chops. Too bad we lost track of each other once we returned home. Terry Dyer
