Mamie Johnson Dantzler aka Middie was born on February 13. 1941 to the late Lula Mitchell-Johnson and Charlie Johnson in Baker, LA. Mamie affectionately known as "Gran or Granny" departed this life on Tueday, September 16, 2025 at her home in Springfield, LA. Mamie was a loyal employee and retired from V. Watts Furniture after 30 plus years with their family and the business. She started her Christian journey under the leadership of the late Rev. Wilbard Jones of Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Tickfaw, La and later become the Mother of Showers of Blessing Deliverance Temple under Apostle Alfred Showers until her departuredate. Mamie "Middie" loved her family and friends and had an affect on everone she met. To know her was to RESPECT her. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, and picture collecting. Although she was firm and punctual, she was always willing to help others. She was united in marriage to the late Obie J. Dantzler. To their union, there were 7 children: Patricia, Doris, Obie "Blue", Arthur, Darlene, Janice and Lesia. Years later. Kimberly was the bonus child added to the crew. From there stemmed the large family that she always wanted. She leaves to cherish her memories, 4 daughters: Doris Coe and Lesia (Andre) Fox, of Springfield, LA, Darlene Johnson of Gulfport, MS and Kim Dominick from Tickfaw, LA. 1 son, Obie (Maydean) Dantzler, of Springfield, LA: 1 son-in-law, Charles Moore of Pearland. TX: 2 Brothers, Charles Johnson and L C (Beverly) Johnson both of Springfield, LA; a sister, Louise O'Quinn and like sister. Mary Alice Bridges, both of Springfield, LA. 27 grandchildren: 56 great-grandchildren: 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lula Mitchell Johnson, Charlie Johnson, her children: Patricia (Ervin) Fletcher, Arthur Dantzler Sr. and Janice Moore, her siblings: Marie Jones and James Johnson, her grandson, Donald "DJ" Dominick and great-great grandson, Tristen Harris.
