Mancil Earl Doolittle, 71, of Green Bank, WV, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

He was born February 17, 1954 in Magnolia, MS, a son of the late Dale Leonard Doolittle and Dora Cornelia Freeman Doolittle.

Mancil was a member of the Church of God. He became a Christian at a young age. He loved God, enjoyed his church family and attending church every Sunday and Wednesday evening.

He loved having a large family. He told everyone he met how many children he had, recited their names as fast as he could. Told them their ages and how everyone is either odd or even ages between August 3rd and September 30th, so now the ages are 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 and 48! He would be very proud of that.

He was a retired long haul truck driver. Being a trucker was his passion. He drove most roads and routes, knew which gas and food options were closest to specific mile markers and exits across the United States. He enjoyed talking on the phone and kept in touch with many family, friends and previous truck driving buddies. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Christa Doolittle and a brother, Gary Doolittle.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Watkins Doolittle; daughters, Rhonda Woodruff of Dunmore, Joyce Carpenter (Mike) of Arbovale, Anita Taylor (Shawn) and Lynette Doolittle (John Deputy), both of Green Bank; sons, Dale Doolittle of Springfield, MO, Philip Doolittle (Sarah) of Dunmore, Melvin Doolittle (Caroline) of Piqua, OH, Brent Doolittle (Andrea) of Guthrie, OK, Kevin Doolittle (Heather) of New Carlisle, OH and Gregory Doolittle (Rebecca) of Mary Esther, FL; grandchildren, Logan Woodruff, Cheylin Woodruff, Clayton Doolittle (Macaden), Brian Doolittle, Gavin Doolittle, Callen Doolittle, Kimber Doolittle, Kaitlyn Carpenter, Dalton Carpenter, Noelle Doolittle, Caroline Doolittle, Tyler Taylor, Braxton Taylor, Dawson Deputy, Darren Deputy, Jackson Doolittle, William Doolittle, Henry Doolittle, Rose Doolittle and Lincoln Doolittle; two sisters, Irma Sallee and Sandy Anderson (Mike); and three brothers, Dan Doolittle, Larry Doolittle (Johnna) and Ron Doolittle.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Arbovale, with Brother Marty Clevenger and Brother Clinton Doolittle officiating. Burial will follow in the Arbovale Cemetery Annex at Arbovale.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until time of the service at the funeral home on Sunday.
