He was born in Bagumara on January 31, 1939. He came to the US in 1972 and lived in Springfield Illinois for the last 50 yrs. He retired as an engineer working for the state of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. He moved to Atlanta area to live with his children and grandchildren over the last year. He is survived by his wife Ruxmaniben Patel (Bagumara), his 2 children Dr. Vijay Patel and his wife, Sharmila Patel (Tankle) and daughter Anju Nimish Patel and husband Nimish Patel (Tori). His 3 grandchildren Mikhil Patel, Jena Patel and Akshay Patel. His younger brother Ramanbhai Jagubhai Patel, and his sons, Hitesh Patel and Dr Yogesh Patel.

Visitation/ Bhajans is Friday, April 14, 2023, from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM at McKoon Funeral Home. Dinner will be after Bhajans at the house.
Funeral is Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:30 AM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan. Please note the area around the funeral home is blocked for another event so please give yourself some extra time but the exit driveway to the funeral home will be open for you to access the funeral home parking lot.
Lunch will be served following the service at 25 Inverness Way, Newnan, GA 30265.
For those coming from out of town and need to book a room, there are some rooms held at Comfort Suites, 45 Bledsoe Road, Newnan Ga 30265. 678-633-6333 (Patel Funeral when booking) and at Sleep Inn near the Avenue, 109 City Circle, Peachtree City Ga 30269. 678-890-4609.
