It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emanuel Julius Schwartz, 80, on July 2,
2024 in Sun City West, Arizona due to complications from an infection.
Manny was born in Bronx, New York on September 21, 1943 to Isaac and Lillian Schwartz. He
grew up with his siblings; Howard Scott, Sylvia Magid, and stepbrother Danny Kaminsky
In his younger years, Manny worked as a hairdresser, it was there where he met his beloved
wife Arleen–she was one of his clients. They married in 1964 and enjoyed a loving relationship
until her passing in 2018.
During their time together, Manny and Arleen, raised two daughters, Michelle Schwartz and
Laura Sedivy. Manny and Arleen ended up moving from New York to Chicago, then to California
where the daughters grew up. Manny spent his career capitalizing on his "gift of gab" as a
salesman, and a successful business-owner. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman with a
love for hunting and fishing. In his later years, Manny cultivated quite a green thumb.
In 1990, Manny and Arleen moved to Arizona where they spent the rest of their days. Their
daughters soon followed, so Manny and Arleen had the pleasure of watching their grandsons,
Daniel Schwartz and Shane Sedivy grow. Manny had a fond affection for his beloved dogs,
Maddy and Penny.
For the past 10 years, Manny worked as a breakfast chef in a senior living home, where he was
loved and adored by his coworkers and the residents alike. Manny was known for his delicious
blueberry pancakes.
Manny is survived by his daughters, Michelle Schwartz, Laura Sedivy; grandsons, Daniel
Schwartz and Shane Sedivy; brother, Howard Scott and stepbrother, Danny Kaminsky. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Arleen Schwartz; his father, Isaac Schwartz, mother, Lillian
Schwartz; stepfather, Louis Kaminsky; and sister, Sylvia Magid.
