Manuel James Carrillo, 84, of St Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at a Savannah, MO health care facility. Manuel was born December 2, 1941 in St. Joseph, son of Virginia (Grooms) and Nicholas Carrillo. He graduated from Benton High School, class of 1960. In 1960 he enlisted in the United States Air Force, faithfully serving his country for 7 years. On August 15, 1964, he married Marie Hernandez at St. James Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Manuel worked as a Maintenance Engineer, spending most of his career at Seitz Foods and Sara Lee. He enjoyed woodworking, taking pictures, was an airplane enthusiast, and following Nascar. He was a chocolate lover, and took pride in everything he did, especially taking care of his yard and his car. Manuel was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by daughter, Chris Power, father, Nicholas Carrillo, mother, Virginia Johnson, and sister, Gloria Bundridge. Survivors include: wife, Marie Carrillo of the home, daughter, Laurie (Doug) Keller of St. Joseph, former son in law, David Power, brother, Bob (Lois) Carrillo of St. Joseph, brother, Nick (Tammy) Carrillo of Georgia, sisters, Judy (Greg) Pearson of Florida and Brenda (Tom) Frizell of St. Joseph, brother-in-law, Harley Bundridge of St Joseph, grandchildren, Jessica Power, Will Power, Amelia & Isabella Keller, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Father Benjamin Fenlon, Celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow Mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are requested to the St. Patrick Catholic Church.
