Manuel Castillo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daly Funeral Home Inc. - Schenectady on Jan. 2, 2026.
Manuel "Manny" Castillo, Jr., 45, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Albany Medical Center.

Manny was born in Schenectady, New York, the beloved son of Nydia Martinez and Manuel Castillo. He was a lifelong resident of the area and well known for his creativity, determination, and generous spirit.

A true jack of all trades, Manny worked in a variety of fields throughout his life-from selling phones with Cricket Wireless to building motorized bicycles and go-karts. He was a man of many talents who enjoyed working with his hands and figuring things out on his own. Manny loved music and singing, was an avid New England Patriots fan, and proudly displayed his deep affection for his Puerto Rican heritage, especially his love for the Puerto Rican flag.

Above all else, Manny cherished his family and those closest to him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by the love of his life, Cathleen Shoup; his brothers and sisters; and his six beloved children.
