Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rivera Funeral Home - McAllen from Feb. 23 to Feb. 25, 2026.
We come together today to honor and celebrate the life of Manuel De Santiago, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Manuel, known affectionately by those close to him simply as Manuel, passed away on February 22, 2026, in
Mission, Texas, due to cardiopulmonary arrest. Born on June 1, 1961, in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico, Manuel's journey through life was marked by his infectious humor, selfless nature, and keen intelligence.
Manuel's early years in Mexico were filled with the vibrant culture and traditions that he carried with him throughout his life. His passion for life was evident in his love for singing, dancing, and soccer-a sport that not only offered him joy but also a way to connect with others. Manuel's laughter was a common sound at family gatherings, and his ability to light up a room was unmatched.
In his personal life, Manuel was a pillar of strength and love for his family. He shared a beautiful marriage with his wife, Norma De Santiago, whose partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Together, they raised four remarkable children-Manuel De Santiago III, Sonia De Santiago, Carlos De Santiago, and Mayra De Santiago-instilling in them the values of kindness, education, and the importance of family.
Manuel's legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren, Allyson Munoz, Dylan Munoz, Emery De Santiago, Kamyl De Santiago, and Damian Santos III. He took great pride in their accomplishments and was a constant source of wisdom and encouragement. His grandchildren will carry forward his spirit, remembering their grandfather's laughter and the lessons he taught them through his actions and words.
Professionally, Manuel was known for his intelligence and problem-solving abilities. His colleagues respected him for his insight and the positive atmosphere he fostered. Manuel's selflessness was not only evident at home but also in his interactions with coworkers and friends. He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help others, often putting their needs above his own.
As we say goodbye to Manuel De Santiago, we reflect on a life well-lived. A life filled with joy, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family. Manuel's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his stories will be told for generations to come. His passing leaves a void in the lives of many, but the impact of his presence will continue to be felt far and wide.
Today, we bid farewell to a man who was not only funny, selfless, and intelligent but also a beacon of light for all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Manuel De Santiago's life was a beautiful melody, composed of moments that brought happiness and laughter to everyone around him. His song may have ended, but the echoes of his melody will resonate forever.
