Manuel Miranda, Major, U.S. Army (Ret.), passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. He was 92.

Born on January 1, 1933 in San German, Puerto Rico, he lived a life defined by service, curiosity, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He proudly served 21 years in the United States Army Air Defense Artillery. His military career took him around the world, where he embraced adventure, forged lifelong friendships, and built a life rich with experience. The military was more than a career to him, it was a calling, and he carried those years with great pride.

After retiring from the Army, he returned to school at the University of Southern Colorado and began a second career as a geologist in the oil industry for Phillips Petroleum Company. His love of learning and his analytical mind served him well, and he approached this chapter with the same dedication he brought to his military service.

In his quieter moments, he enjoyed crosswords, sudoku, and games of Sequence. He had a special talent for preserving family memories, always behind a camera, capturing the everyday moments that now mean so much. His albums, videos, and photos remain a treasured record of the life he built and the people he cherished.

He shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Norma L. Miranda, traveling together across the globe and creating a lifetime of stories along the way.

He is survived by son Manuel Miranda (spouse Barbara Miranda), daughter Norma Morse (spouse Steven Morse), daughter Sonia Miranda, daughter Jodie Stewart (spouse Craig Stewart) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will forever carry his love and guidance in their hearts. His legacy is one of service, curiosity, devotion, and family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Lux Funeral Home. With a Prayer Service to follow at 12:00 PM. Honors will be rendered by the United States Army at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

Donations can be made to the Comal County Senior Citizens Foundation.
