Manuel Alaniz Robles peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1945 to Tomas Robles and Luisa Robles Alaniz.
Manuel is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maria Robles; daughter, Crystal Alcoser and husband Ray Alcoser, their kids Raelynn, Genesis, Nevaeh, and Ace Alcoser; daughter, Ann Marie Robles and her sons, Lyric Robles and Manny Barrientos; daughter, Donna Robles and her children, Danielle Tomas, Megan Deleon, and Steve Deleon Jr.; daughter, Mandy Robles and wife Maudi Robles and their daughter, Alora Robles; son, Manuel Robles Jr.; daughter, Dorothy Robles and her daughters Rochelle Robles and Cristina Cantu; daughter, Victoria Robles and her son, BJ Cantu. Manuel also helped raise his stepson, Aniesto A. Luna and wife JoAnn Luna and their kids Aniesto A. Luna Jr. and Ariel Luna; stepdaughter, Angie Luna and her son, Ray Luna; stepdaughter, Veronica Luna and her sons, Mario Gonzales Jr. and Xavier Gonzales. He is further survived by many great grandchildren.
Manuel loved to BBQ and have a good time. He enjoyed making his family and friends laugh. He also enjoyed dice, cards and playing bingo. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he loved his football numbers. Manuel also loved making memories at the river or the lake where he always had a good time drinking his “Bub light.” Manuel was a hardworking man. He first started working at the age of 14 years old. He put in many years of work at Mission Valley Mill until they closed down. He then changed his line of work and became a custodian for Seguin ISD and later on, Navarro ISD, where he stayed until his well-deserved retirement.
Services honoring Manuel will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Goetz Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. All services will conclude that evening and a cremation will follow.
