Manuel Sison Tomeldan, 72, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines. Manuel was born August 19, 1945 in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines. In 1965 he graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Manila with a BS in Zoology (Pre-Med). In 1967 he achieved an additional BS in Medical Technology from Centro Escolar University. Shortly afterward he began an internship at Baguio General Hospital and in 1968 came to Seattle Washington to work as a licensed Medical Technologist. In 1970 he relocated to Portland, Oregon to work at Baptist Hospital. In 1972 he relocated one last time to the Bay Area to continue his work as Medical Technologist at both Seton Medical Center in Daly City, CA as well as St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco, CA. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Thelma Tomeldan; his son, Vincent Tomeldan; his grandchildren Lucas Tomeldan and Theodore Tomeldan; his sisters Virginia Guico and Emily Rivera; his uncles Modesto Tomeldan and Epitacio Sison Jr.; his aunts Teofila and Rosina Sison; his nieces Mary Young, Maricar Surdilla, Alie Lee, Raquel Boday, Joann Blancaver, Pauline Rivera, Myra Nishimura, Eimee Peugh, Nicole Guico; his nephews Francis Sison, Richard Tomeldan, Sherwin Tomeldan, Noel Sison and Daniel Rivera as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ricardo and Julita Tomeldan, his brother Ricardo Tomeldan Jr., his brother in law (aka "amigo)" Alfredo Guico and his nephew Philip Rivera. Memorial and Wake services will be held from 3-9pm on Friday September 7th at Sneider, Sullivan and O'Connell's funeral home in San Mateo, CA.
