Manuel Trindade Obituary
He was born in Sao Jorge, Azores, on Sept. 15, 1937 and immigrated to Watsonville in May of 1973.
He initially worked as a farmworker until he landed a job at Phillips Driscopipe, Inc., where he worked for many years until his retirement. He was a quick-witted, funny, hard worker, and a dedicated father. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, helping others and volunteering at the Azorean/Portuguese Hall and with various community cultural events. Anyone who knew him knew of his love for his homeland as well as his talent for "telling a story," especially humorous tales about our ancestors.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Albertina, his four children and his six grandchildren.
A viewing will be held May 27 from 4-6 pm with Rosary at 6pm at Mehl's Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave. Mass will be at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 2401 E. Lake Avenue, at 10am on May 28, with burial immediately following at Pajaro Valley Public Cemetery.
