Loving Memory of Manuela Gonzalez de Moreno
January 19, 1932 - October 19, 2025
With deep sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Manuela Gonzalez de Moreno, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandmother who passed away peacefully in Highland Park, Illinois, she was 93 years old.
Born on January 19, 1932, to Jose Gonzalez and Maria Echazarreta, Manuela was raised in a large and loving family. Out of 12 siblings, she is survived by three, carrying forward a legacy of deep familial bonds that shaped her life and values.
On September 23, 1950, Manuela married Pablo H. Moreno at Iglesia San Jose, Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo León, beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, respect, and unwavering devotion. This past September, Manuela and Pablo celebrated an extraordinary milestone - 75 years of marriage- a testament to the strength and depth of their union.
Manuela immigrated to California, living briefly elsewhere before making Highland Park her permanent home in 1970. There, she lived a life centered around family and friends.
A proud homemaker, seamstress and full-time mother, Manuela dedicated every day of her life to raising her children and nurturing her household. Her hands were rarely still, always preparing meals, packing lunches, and ensuring that every child and worker had what they needed before stepping out the door. Her cooking was legendary in the family - a comforting symbol of love, tradition, and care.
She was the beloved mother of ten children: Rosalinda Moreno, Benita M. de León (Ovidio), Concepcion Moreno (Margarita), Pablo A. Moreno, Atanacio Moreno, Noe Moreno (Guadalupe) Ruby M. Camacho (Enrique), Ivonne M. Rodriguez (Ricardo), Jose A. Moreno (Maria), and Armando Moreno (Sandra).
Her legacy extends through 34 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, each touched by her presence, stories, and unconditional love.
Manuela will be remembered for her enduring strength, her selflessness, and the way her life quietly and powerfully held a family together. Her love was constant, her home always open, and her spirit forever rooted in the lives of those who survive her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
