Marc Bitz Obituary

Marc's celebration of life will be 12:30pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Aldersgate Church in Aberdeen, SD with Pastor Derek Baum officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Visitation will be 10:00am-12:00pm, Thursday at the church.
Marc was born on September 7, 1977, in Aberdeen, SD. He attended North Sargent High School in Gwinner, ND, graduating in 1996. He then attended Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD and graduated with his associates degree. Marc worked for the Department of Transportation in Aberdeen for about fifteen years and later worked as a conductor for BNSF in Aberdeen for the past ten years.
Marc married his soul mate, Robin Rae Schumacher, on March 25, 2006, and they had four beloved puppies throughout their married life: Oscar, Thumper, Dazee, and Dottee.
Marc loved being outside, mowing, gardening, and woodworking. He truly loved nature and could always be found creating beautiful spaces and things for his family and loved ones. Tinkering was where he was happiest, and those who knew him know how passionate he was about doing projects, not just for himself, but for so many others.
Eternally grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Robin; his parents, Gerold & Louise Bitz; his sisters, Renae (Joe) Lehman, Jeanne Bitz, Amanda Vilhauer, and Alicia (Eric) Garrett. Also grateful for sharing his life are his mother and father-in-law, Rick (Jan) Schumacher; his sisters-in-law, Tami Schumacher, April Schumacher (Richie Lacher), and Kellee (Ross) Pederson. Marc will also be greatly missed by all of his nieces and nephews: Isabelle, Abbigail, Savannah, Kloey, Kassady, Eva, Jasmine, Halie, Samantha, Jessa, Issac, Ian, Alec, Reese, and Gavin.
Marc was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albertus & Mary Ann Haak, Henry & Gertrude Bitz, Granny, and many aunts and uncles.
He was so loved and will be missed deeply.
In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to the family to donate to the charity of their choosing.
