Gerald Edwin Gab was born October 15, 1947, to Edwin and Erma (Stabler) Gab in Eureka, SD. He grew up on a farm and attended country school. Gerald boarded in Eureka for high school and graduated from Eureka High School in 1965. He joined the US Army on January 15, 1968, and served in Vietnam. After receiving his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to the family farm.
On June 15, 1969, Gerald was united in marriage to Phyllis Rath in Long Lake, SD, and they made their home on the farm. Gerald drove truck for 28 years for HC Clark where he hauled all types of farm equipment and a couple of odd pieces; a small airplane and a burned up camper. Only Jerry could get this done. After "retiring," he worked for Dahme Construction for several years.
Gerald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. He was a proud member of the American Legion and the VFW. Gerald loved riding his motorcycle and side by siding in the Black Hills. He also enjoyed working in the yard. Gerald was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Grateful for having shared Gerald's life are his wife Phyllis Gab; children: Jason (Sara) Gab and April (John) Prinzing; two grandchildren: Addison Prinzing and Kellen Prinzing; and his sister: Dianne (Victor) Boschee.
Preceding Gerald in death are his parents Edwin and Erma Gab; and his siblings: Kenneth Gab and Brenda Neuharth; and his niece Heidi (Neuharth) Knapp.
