Marcel James Traore, affectionately known as "Celly Cell", son of La' Braia Harris and Omar Traore was born June 8,2018 attending Sandy Plain Elementary School in Dundalk, MD.
Marcel was known to family, friends and teachers as an outgoing, bubbly, energetic boy. Marcel enjoyed being around his loved ones, playing with his tablet and blocks. On a typical day you could catch Marcel tuned into Paw Patrol or PJ Masks and eating powdered donuts.
With his time among us being cut so short, the energy that Marcel carried in his spirit has left imprints on many hearts without even being in flesh. Marcel was guided home unto the Lord on June 21, 2024.
A specific light that guided Marcel through his journey came from a very beautiful Stephanie Sroka who happened to be Marcel's teacher. The family wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge this woman for her patience and love she poured into Marcel. Working with individuals on the spectrum can be challenging and it definitely requires much more than help from home. Ms.Sroka diligently worked with Marcel and cared for him as if he was her own, for that on behalf of the family we thank you and God Bless You!
Marcel leaves to cherish in his memory: his parents La'Braia and Omar , grandparents Nicole, Aicha and Ernest, great grandparents Kim and Tyrone, Godmother Siedah, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family; Nicholas, Emmanuel JR, La'Shay, David, Winter, Elijah, Zariah, Dama, Mamadou, Kierra, and Mario.
A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Friday June 28, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm with a service to follow.

Letter to Marcel:
Cousin Marcel passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 after going through an elopement phase and got away from home, unfortunately never making it back. It saddens me because we loved him very much, but he's happy in his resting place. I wish I could have had more time with you Marcel. We love you, and miss you, and that's all I have to say. - Winter
Siedah's Prayer:
I said a prayer for you today and I know God must have heard me. I felt the answer in my heart although he spoke no words. I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I know you wouldn't mind so I asked him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind. I asked that he'd be near you at the start of each new day, to grant you peace and serenity to share your way. I asked for happiness for you in all things great & small. But it was for his loving care that I prayed for most of all. - Siedah
