Marcelino Virgen-Martinez

In loving memory of a husband, father and grandfather, Marcelino Virgen-Martinez (79) passed away surrounded by family on September 24, 2025 at home in Hood River, Oregon. Marcelino was born in Ixtlahuacan, Mexico on March 22, 1946.
He later came to California for a better life, met his wife Bertha in Conoga Park and had four children, while residing in California. Then came to Oregon to vacation and visit family and ended up making Parkdale, Oregon his home and the family grew with two more children.
His passion for work was working in agricultural orchard farm work. He had a strong passion for what he did and worked in the fruit industry even after retirement. He still had a passion to go help out as much as he could.
Marcelino was very well known for his kind soul, smile, laughter, and jokes. He never hesitated to help, and lend a hand for anyone who was in need. Marcelino's favorite hobby was fishing, and spending time with his family. Marcelino didn't have to know your name; he would talk to anyone and everyone with a beaming smile.
A viewing will be held 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Anderson's Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Ave, Hood River, OR 97031). Funeral mass will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 3, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church (1501 Belmont Ave, Hood River, OR 97031) with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (1225 Tucker Rd, Hood River, OR 97031).

En memoria amorosa de un esposo, padre y abuelo, Marcelino Virgen-Martínez (79), quien falleció rodeado de su familia el 24 de septiembre de 2025 en su hogar en Hood River, Oregon. Marcelino nació en Ixtlahuacán, México, el 22 de marzo de 1946.
Más tarde emigró a California en busca de una vida mejor, donde conoció a su esposa Bertha en Canoga Park y tuvo cuatro hijos mientras residían en California. Luego viajó a Oregón de vacaciones para visitar a familiares, y finalmente hizo de Parkdale, Oregon, su hogar, donde la familia creció con dos hijos más.
Su pasión laboral era el trabajo de agricultura y huertas. Tenía un gran amor por lo que hacía y trabajó en la industria frutícola incluso después de jubilarse. Siempre mantenía el deseo de ayudar en lo que pudiera.
Marcelino era muy conocido por su alma bondadosa, su sonrisa, su risa y sus bromas. Nunca dudaba en ayudar y ofrecer una mano a quien lo necesitara. Su pasatiempo favorito era la pesca y pasar tiempo con su familia. Marcelino no necesitaba saber tu nombre; hablaba con cualquiera y con todos, siempre con una sonrisa radiante.
Un tiempo de velación se llevara a cabo 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., Jueves 2 de Octubre 2025, en Anderson's Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Ave, Hood River, OR 97031). Misa fúnebre para Marcelina será 2:00 P.M., Viernes, 3 de Octubre 2025 en la iglesia católica St. Mary's (1501 Belmont Ave, Hood River, OR 97031) y procederemos al Panteón Católico St. Mary's (1225 Tucker Rd, Hood River, OR 97031)
